The Smithy is semi traditional / semi modern in a sense that there much work gets done in the same way as it has been done well over 2000 years ago - with hand hammers and a lot of hard work. However there are certain modern additions of course, allowing me to work larger pieces on my own, or simply save some elbow-grease.
You will find several Anvils from 207kg (approx. 460pounds) down to 50kg (roughly 120pounds), a 40-ton hydraulic forging press (built by us btw.) grinding machines and a complete heat treatment setup allowing the professional heat treatment of carbon-, tool- & stainless-steels.

I have specialized in the forging of custom cutlery - contemporary swords & knives - of all types. Also patternwelded steel is being forged from high quality materials (patternwelded steel is often referenced as "damascus steel").

Also I offer forging classes where you can learn the age old craft of bladesmithing (swords, knives) and some blacksmithing too.
